One week left! :-(
Well well well!
It is now the end of week 7 and we have one week left! I can't believe how quickly it has all gone!
Ok well this week.....
Monday we had massage in the morning, it was very cool! First we worked on a horse in the lane way and then we just went into the paddock and worked on them with no halters on! It was amazing, some may say like magic! In the afternoon headed over to the dressage barn to have a saddle fitting class. It was very interesting.
Tuesday we had massage again in the morning We did the same as Monday, worked on one horse with the halter on then went into the paddock again. We then had handling in the afternoon which was pretty cool! We had to hand in our papers before dividing into 3 groups - one out in the round pen, one doing lunging and the other doing an obstacle course. I did the obstacle course. It was so much fun! We had to get the horse to walk over a bridge, go between cones, back them into the breeze way before sitting on a barrel and backing them into a stall. We then had to get them to go through noodles and have them sidepass over a pole. All of which was done at the end of the lead rope! It was rather nifty!!!
Wednesday was Sara's Birthday! We were supposed to head up to the ranch up in the hills but the weather wasn't great so we met at the classroom, watched a video there and then went to the ranch down the road and worked on a horse there before heading into Loveland to have Chinese for lunch. We then went back to the ranch and started working on another horse but the wind picked up and we weren't sure what it was going to do so we called it a day!
Thursday we headed out to the ranch way out yonder. It was another good day. We worked on 2 horses in the morning before lunch, which was Sloppy Joe's and brownies then headed back out to work on one more. The last one I worked on, well some may say it was love at first sight! He was so beautiful! He was a pinto - palomino and white. I asked the wrangler how much and he said $2500. I would have seriously considered it if I lived here! They were also doing branding and castrating on the cattle that day which made it all the more interesting for working on the horses!
Friday we had business with Michael then headed over to the Dressage Barn to have a movement class with RaeAnn. The horses there are very nice!!! We watched them be lunged, then saw one ridden and then watched them free lunge around the arena. RaeAnne set up a jump for one of the horses to go over which was cool! That class was finished with a beer... quite a nice way to finish the school day I think! We then headed out for Margarita's (I had coke and a sip of Margarita). We then met up with some other people from class and some of our teachers for Ethiopian food. Now that was an experience! The food was interesting and the night was full of laughter!
Saturday was just a mouch around day. Went down to the pool for a bit to get some rays and not a lot else really!
Sunday the Diva's, Karen and I went for breakfast at Vern's before going white water rafting!!!! It was so much fun!!!!!! It seemed to be too short though or was it that it just went too quick? We then went back to Vern's for lunch before heading back to the apartments and hitting the hot tub to soak those muscles which I'm sure will be aching tomorrow!
Well that's the wrap for this week!
8 days until I'm back in England with Wayne! Can't wait to see you hun!

Week 6 is a wrap!
Since my last post, well......
Wednesday we had our last anatomy lesson which mean our final exam!!! (really not too big a deal) but we still figured it was something to celebrate so a group of us went out to dinner at Rock Bottom Brewery. I had a yummy steak, although it wasn't as good as the one I had at Cracker Barrel! Also managed to score a free glass, thanks to Liw's charm!
Thursday and Friday we had Pathology with a vet. She was so loveley and knowledgable. She taught us a lot. We went with her to our second home (one of the ranch's) and went went over comfirmation, symmetry etc etc.
Saturday I had a lazy moring before heading up into the Rockies with the Diva's and Sue. TOP DAY!!! The views were amazing up there. We got to see a lot of wild life too which was great. On the way back down we stopped in Estes Park for dinner.
Sunday has been quite a lazy day really! I did my washing, chilled by the pool and then we headed out to Rick's for a potluck dinner. It was such a laugh! Rick and Crystal harnessed up the horses and rick took us out for a ride which was great. Michael brought his guitar and played us some tunes - Casey's request for her birthday... HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASEY! Karen bought her a loveley cake which went down well with all the other desserts! There was so much food I am still struggling to move!
Well I must be off. I need to get homework done!

Since I last wrote on here we have done... well a lot! We went to another ranch out in whoop whoop which was pretty cool. It is always good to get your hands on new horses! Friday night we went and had dinner at the Cracker Barrel and then went to a small rodeo. They have some different thingsover here! They do King of the Ring which is where any guy can get into the ring and be chased around by a bull, the last one left wins - kinda silly if you ask me! and also Mutton Bustin (as shown in video above) which is where little kids get on sheep and see how far they can go. Rather funny to watch! Jess and I are going to make an appearance in the Rodeo News with the Rodeo clown in a week or so.
Here are some photos of various things I have been up to....

Memorial Weekend - long weekend!
A 3 day weekend!!! What a blast. Saturday didn't entail a lot. It started with a lot of washing and then sunbathing by the pool. As it was Sara's birthday Chels, Sara and I went out to a rather nice Italian restaurant and had a great dinner. When we got home we decided to make a cardboard box car so we rushed over to K-Mart to get some tape and ended up running riot in there! We raided the toy and hat section. When leaving Chels got into a shopping trolly, definitely the cheapest buy of the evening! We got home and made the best cardboard box car ever!!!!! Once we were done we 'drove' around the the Diva's to show them my new car, GARY!!!!!!
Sunday we went to a creek festival down in Boulder. It was pretty nifty. There were plenty of stalls and interesting foods, including these amazing banana and strawberry kababs covered in chocolate.... YUM! We watched Wendy Woo and her band perform (we had Wendy for a rhythm class a couple of weeks ago) she's a fantastic singer! Now Sara, Chels and I have some of her albums so the rest of the weekend has been spent blasting Woo.
Today has been wet wet wet! I figured seeing as it was a wet day it should also be a PJ day!!! Went headed into Fort Collins for a while (in my PJ's) and did well not a lot else!
Looking forward to another amazing week at school!

What a wacky week!
Well what a week!
Tuesday we worked on polo horses out in the field and back at the stables. Working out in the field was pretty cool - to be able to keep catch 14 horses from a large herd and keep their attention while they are in their pasture is quite something! The afternoon session was spent doing quieting and handling. We have a small competition going where you have to complete 2 tasks with your partner. They are timed and you can be penalised. One of the activities is to lunge your partner while they are blindfolded and the other is to gather the lunge rein 3 times in a 'safe' manner as to not scare the horse... this one was done with the rein attached to the gate. Heidi and I did pretty well on that one! We haven't done our lunging yet, hopefully we;ll get that done next week.
Wednesday we spent all day doing hoof care. Bryan is a very knowledgeable man and I learnt A LOT from him! We watched him make a shoe from a piece of bar stalk and attach it to the limb. He then dissected two limbs of a horse so we could examine the tendons, ligaments, joints and hoof capsule. It was fantastic to see what is in the hoof be able to get a good feel for all the tissues and joints etc.
This is a picture of Bryan shoeing the perfect kind of horse to shoe!
Thursday was a full on day of business, my head came away from that chockers. In the afternoon we were
informed that a tornado had hit towns about 20 - 30 minutes away from us which was kinda scary! Everything had an eerie feel to it that afternoon! Apparently there were about 6 tornado's around the area (not too close) last night!
Today we had anatomy and movement, another full on day! While in our movement class we got told that we were on tornado alert until this evening. Catherine was a bit worried about this. I didn't expect to come to America and be so close to a tornado!
This weekend is a long weekend, still no idea what I am going to do but I'm sure ill come up with something!
Missing you all muchly xx
